At Meridian ED+C, we take a collaborative approach to consulting. We work closely with our clients to understand their needs and develop solutions that are tailored to their unique challenges. Our approach is transparent, results-driven, and designed to help businesses succeed.
For building owners and managers, we deliver results in increased awareness and knowledge in their building envelope needs, as well as substantial value on their respective investment in moisture and thermal protection. As an independent advisor we can define practicable options for building owners, facility managers, and commercial real estate professionals while embracing a collaborative integrated process.
We recognize that buildings and roofs are not constructed using the same design or materials. We also understand that each building owner has specific needs when it comes to the maintenance of the building and budgets.
We fully evaluate the building envelope construction and determine appropriate solutions from repair to design to installation to maintenance.
It can be a daunting challenge taking a new product or product line to market. We can help from launch planning to market forecasting on through promotion and execution.
Meridian can provide comprehensive support to small and medium enterprises. Our activity can commence through involvement from the start up, continuing with the organization and process development, as well as the implementation of detailed market and commercialization deployment.
For those in the product manufacturing/supply arena, we work closely with our clients. Our goal is to improve their firms’ competitiveness by the development of a full and quality product line offering, operating process efficiency and marketing initiatives effectiveness.

Client Comment: “After experiencing some roof leaks, we were concerned about the huge expense of buying new roofs for both of our buildings. A colleague recommended Ken who provided us with a valuable report on the condition of the roofs and took the time to carefully explain to us the details of his observations. We were relieved to hear from him that we had options. Based on his advice, we confidently chose to contract for some reworking of the flashings & penetrations and then a new revitalizing coating was applied everywhere. He also assisted us with a final walk-though of the finished installation. For a sensible cost, we are now able to retain the roofs on both buildings for a reasonable number of years until such later time when we may have to replace the roofs when it becomes necessary.”

Client Comment: “Our HOA sought the advice of Mr. Wolford to assess the condition of our roof as the warranty was about to expire and there were a couple of seemingly small issues. Bids we had received from roofing companies were confusing; they offered differing and wide-ranging solutions, including a new roof. Ken gave us assurances that the existing rubber roof was in reasonably good condition but needed some careful attention in areas around drains and roof membrane seams. Ken subsequently brought to our attention previously undetected concerns with an unusual covering over the tops of the walls surrounding the roof. He had also discovered substrate issues with a number of the high walls, advised us of the possible causes, and emphasized the critical need for imminent remedial work in these areas. Ken guided us through everything from a condition assessment, the use of an infrared scan to find all of the moisture problems, the requirements with fixing the walls, choosing a contractor, and a final review of the contractor’s repair work. Without his expertise and patience, this process would have been much more stressful and costly for us”.

Client Comment: “As the building owner, I had very little knowledge of what to do with the roof on my building. We received estimates from roofing contractors with varying proposals that were difficult to understand and prices all over the place. We hired Mr. Wolford, who gave us his own comprehensive assessment (which recommended a new roof system), carefully interpreted and explained the estimates in a language we could understand and guided us through the process from start to completed installation. We are very satisfied with our investment and the finished roof. His recommendations and advice on a number of decisions with the components of the roof and the actual work to be done saved us a considerable amount of time and money.”

I skipped the International Roofing Exposition this year; first time in a long while because of an interesting project I started last week.
It’s for a roof/waterproofing renovation of a building designed by an American icon and nestled in the foothills.
Because of its particular location, there are very cool vistas and some occasional unique visitors who show up unannounced.
One such visitor helped himself to the promenade reflecting pool for his own recreation.
Good thing I didn’t have any honey or berries with me.
Guess our paths may cross again in the future!
I purged a ton of books recently, but reread this one first. The Ford family name is certainly prominent in the mythology of 20th century American business culture.
While the story of 3 generations of Fords was by itself compelling, the account of several decades of company management (and mismanagement) styles by a number of Ford Motor Company executives is equally fascinating.
It’s springtime in North Texas, and that means plenty of interesting weather events. Check out the hail stone reported by one of our local news stations last week. Not the form of hail one typically thinks of (pea, marble, golf-ball, baseball, softball, etc.) when hearing descriptions about the size/shape from others.
This one is more like a biscuit!
